Providing education on health and medical care to the mothers and children of Asia

Since its establishment in 1997, PH-Japan (People’s Hope Japan – PHJ) has upheld a vision of bringing health and hope to all by engaging in the following missions:

  1. Empowering the people of Asia to lead healthy and happy lives by providing education on health and medical care, with an emphasis on maternal and child healthcare
  2. Extending support to medical facilities and relief to disaster victims

PHJ is pleased that its support activities have won the trust of people in local communities. In a world where many things are in flux, PHJ is working to create value in new ways while staying true to a policy that emphasizes showing respect for others, doing quality work, maintaining a neutral stance, and making efficient use of funds. PHJ continues its work to help those who are in need by linking them with donors who wish to bring happiness to others, leading to mutual happiness for all concerned.

Objectives

PHJ will provide assistance to help people worldwide improve health and medical environment and ultimately contribute to facilitate international cooperation.

Missions

To empower the people of Asia, PH-Japan provides education on health and medical care, as well as medical and health support in disaster relief.

Principles

Humanitarianism

Based on a humanitarian spirit, we support people in need, helping them become confident, self-dependent, healthy, and happy.

Quality Activities

Understanding local needs, in cooperation with governments and non-governmental organizations, we select and extend positive support to the programs that will enhance local capabilities.

Independence

Our management remains independent from any political view, religion, or ideology as well as any governmental, or private organizations, enabling ourselves to serve people in need.

Efficiency

Through efficient management, we maximize the percentage of our donations that can be allocated to field activities that serve people in need.

 

Accountability Self-check 2012

In February 2018, PHJ implemented the NGO Accountability Self-check (ASC) 2012 to assess its own accountability and successfully acquired the Accountability self-check 2012 certification mark.
The ASC, a set of standards of accountability, was provided by Japan NGO Center (JANIC) for strengthening Japanese NGOs’ ability to answer to the expectations and requirements of stakeholders. The standards cover four aspects of NGO’s organization management, project implementation, financial status, and information disclosure activities. Please refer to the JANIC ASC site.
PHJ recognizes the importance of its abilities to perform social responsibility and to enhance its organizational reliability and acquired the Accountability Self-check 2012 mark.

Allocation of Donation

By emphasizing efficiency, we ensure that a high percentage of the donations received go to our field activities.See the following diagram.
